Communication Therapy
At TMH Physiotherapy, Our Speech & Language Therapists are experienced in providing treatments for a number of communication difficulties including but not limited to Dysarthria (slurred speech), Aphasia (language impairment), Dyspraxia (Poor co-ordination of speech) and cognitive-communication impairments. We can employ a variety of treatment options including Augmentative & Alternative Communication (AAC) aids as well as having access to specialist referral pathways for more advanced technology
Swallowing Management
At TMH Physiotherapy and in accordance with the IDDSI standards, Our Speech & Language Therapists can assess and treat clients who are experiencing difficulties with swallowing of food and drink caused by a number of neurological conditions such as stroke, brain injury, Parkinson's disease and multiple sclerosis to name a few.
Residential Home & Assisted Living Outreach
At TMH Physiotherapy we understand that a variety of conditions can improve, deteriorate or simply change over time and with it the needs and abilities of clients can likewise adjust. This can make swallowing easier for some but can also increase the risk of issues such as choking or aspiration pneumonia for others. In recognition of this we offer an assessment service as well as ongoing training for residential homes, assisted living facilities and at home where swallowing ability can be quickly reviewed to ensure safety at mealtimes.
