Based in Leicestershire, the team at TMH Physiotherapy have many years worth of experience both in the Private & NHS sectors, building our careers exclusively in the fields of neurological physiotherapy, stroke physiotherapy and rehabilitation, elderly rehabilitation and general physiotherapy.  We welcome clients from across Leicestershire and Derbyshire and look forward to meeting you.

Our Team

TMH Physiotherapy was established in 2018 by our Lead Physiotherapist, Tom Haynes. Since then we have expanded to bring together a team of highly trained Physiotherapists, Physiotherapy Associates and Speech & Langauge Therapists who work tirelessly to provide specialist rehabilitation to even more people. Tom started his career in 2014, working for the NHS, where his extensive knowledge and skill allowed him to quickly promote to the grade of Senior Physiotherapist in under two years after qualifying. Over time, and with a constant drive to succeed, he went on and progressed to specialising in Neurological, Elderly and General rehabilitation as well as actively participating in research projects within these fields.  Tom has a vast amount of experience in treating patients with all manner of common, complex and rare conditions but has a particular interest in stroke recovery and neuro-degenerative diseases.  Tom holds further post graduate qualifications from the BBTA in the Bobath Approach of neurological rehabilitation as well as additional certifications in working with special patient groups including Spinal Cord Injury, Amputees and Bariatric care.   Tom established TMH Physiotherapy in 2018 and has amassed a reputation for providing an exceptional level of high-quality rehabilitation ever since.

In 2022, Tom was approached by the University of Nottingham (UoN) where he now guest lectures on a regular basis to assist in teaching of the Neurology based modules for the undergraduate Physiotherapy Degree programme helping to mould the next generation of Physiotherapists.  

In addition to this, Tom, is currently undertaking an MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice at the University of Derby.  On completion, this will provide Tom with the ability for independent prescribing of medicines, which will open up further opportunities to expand the services offered by TMH Physiotherapy in the future.

Anthony Crowe

Anthony started his career in 2013 working for the NHS on core rotations before progressing to a Senior Physiotherapist in 2015 where he undertook 'specialised rotations’ including musculoskeletal (MSK) outpatients, Trauma & Orthopaedics, Neurology/neurosurgery and ITU/cardiothoracic's.  He also helped to lead a multidisciplinary team involved in rolling out new enhanced recovery protocols for patients undergoing total hip and knee replacement surgery (THR/ TKR’s) as well as being involved in research and development of routine orthopaedic rehab protocols for the upper limb.  Since then, he has gone on to gain further valuable experience working across other areas of health rehabilitation including Medical & Elderly rehabilitation.

Anthony has a special interest in MSK therapy and has also previously had valuable sports rehabilitation experience at Stoke City FC.

Dan Strong

Dan started his career in 2022, working for the NHS in a static position within local community hospitals on the Elderly Medical Rehabilitation wards.  After showing the skill set required to rapidly progress he was awarded a promotion to the level of a Senior Physiotherapist by October 2023.  Dan has a passion for quality care and a compassion for helping those living with a disability, which he has further demonstrated outside of his career by volunteering in the past with local community centre groups.  Since Dan joined TMH Physiotherapy in 2023, he has quickly proven himself to be a highly competent physiotherapist with great results in managing clients with arthritis as well as those following traumatic post-fall orthopaedic surgery.  His kind humour has already led to Dan being beloved by many of our clients.

Ellie started her career in 2008 working for the NHS as a Physiotherapy Assistant before progressing to a Therapy Technical Instructor in 2013.  Working alongside Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists, she gained years of valuable experience in stroke, medical and elderly inpatient rehabilitation as well as working for her local community falls prevention service.   Unsurprisingly, in 2019, Ellie decided to undertake her full training and embarked on completing a BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy degree to become a qualified Physiotherapist in 2023 after which she joined TMH Physiotherapy.  Ellie has already proven to be favourite amongst our clients and is able to draw upon her extensive health experience to provide a high quality and personable rehabilitation service.

Mason Rowley

Mason originally joined TMH Physiotherapy in 2021, as a Physiotherapy Associate, where he provided rehabilitation treatments alongside our Lead Physiotherapist, before going on to fully qualify as a Physiotherapist from Coventry University in 2023.  After a professional football career Mason began working as part of therapy teams within the NHS in 2015. Since then, he has worked exclusively in the field of inpatient and community based Medical & Elderly Rehabilitation. He has a wide variety of skills that encompass both Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy whilst having a special interest in Falls Prevention.  As well as being a Physio; Mason also holds an additional degree in BSc (Hons) Applied Sports Science.

Jess Hickey

Jess originally joined TMH Physiotherapy in 2021, as a Physiotherapy Associate, where she provided rehabilitation treatments alongside our Lead Physiotherapist, before going on to fully qualify as a Physiotherapist from Coventry University in 2023.  She began her career working for the NHS in 2016 as part of an integrated therapy team in Northampton General Hospital Emergency Assessment Unit.  Since then, she has gained valuable experience working across other areas of health rehabilitation including Renal failure units, Medical & Elderly rehab wards and Stroke rehabilitation. Jess has a wide variety of skills that encompass both Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy as well as having a special interest in Stroke recovery. Jess is also a qualified Massage Therapist which adds to our skill set of being able to provide skilled hands-on manual therapy treatments. Jess also holds an additional degree in BSc (Hons) Sports Exercise Science.

Matthew Girvan

Matt joined TMH Physiotherapy as our first Physiotherapy Associate where he can provide rehabilitation treatments independently and autonomously alongside our Lead Physiotherapist. He began his career working for the NHS in 2016 as part of a Stroke Therapy Team. Since then, he has gained valuable experience working across other areas of health rehabilitation including Elective & Trauma Orthopaedics as well as most recently Medical & Elderly rehabilitation. Matt has a wide variety of skills that encompass both Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy as well as having special interests in post operative hip and knee rehabilitation. Matt also holds a degree in BA (Hons) Education, Psychology and Counselling which adds to our skill set of being able to provide psychological support to our clients as part of our overall holistic approach.

Katie Roughton - TMH Physiotherapy

Kate joined TMH Physiotherapy as our Admin Assistant and is usually the first point of contact for anybody wishing to access our Therapy Services.  She undertakes many non-clinical duties that are essential for the effective running of the business including booking appointments, managing correspondence and controlling our cloud based medical record keeping system.  Her role has also expanded to completing preliminary telephone interviews with clients and/or there families prior to initial therapy assessments in order to gather as much information for the team as is possible as well as to offer up a listening ear without time constraint's.  This helps both the therapists to spend more time concentrating on clinical skills required during your appointment as well as allowing our clients to feel that they have had a real opportunity to be heard.

Steph Mason - TMH Physiotherapy

Steph joined TMH Physiotherapy as a Speech & Language Therapist in 2022 as part of our new service expansion.   After graduating in 2003 with a BA (Hons) in Linguistics & Deaf Studies; Steph went on to study again before qualifying as a Speech & Language Therapist in 2006.  During the first phases of her career Steph worked for the NHS in Wrexham managing patients across both adults and paediatrics after which she settled in Leicestershire and since 2009 has continued to work in NHS hospitals on various Stroke Rehabilitation Units and General Medical Wards.  Sine 2015, Steph has also worked as a registered Intermediary for the National Crime Agency (NCA) where she assists in the assessment of communication skills of both witnesses and victims of crime.  Steph has a special interest in the management of communication impairments for survivors of Stroke & Brain Injury.

George Martin - TMH Physiotherapy

George joined TMH Physiotherapy as a Speech & Language Therapist in 2022 as part of our new service expansion.  After qualifying in 2015 he began his career working as well as volunteering for charities including the Stroke Association and Headway where he was able to support patients and their families following Stroke & Brain Injury.  After this George went on to join the NHS in 2018 working across hospitals in Leicestershire where he has continued to gain a breadth of experience whilst positioned across Stroke Rehabilitation Units, General Medical Wards and the Specialist Brain Injury Unit.  George has a special interest in the field of neurological disease and has worked with patients who suffer from a variety of conditions including Stroke, Motor Neuron Disease, Multiple Sclerosis and Parkinson's Disease to name a few.  He is also particularly skilled in the management of dysphagia (swallowing impairment) related to these conditions.
