Our expertise stems from developing careers within the specialist fields of neurological physiotherapy, stroke physiotherapy and general elderly rehabilitation. Our Team
Established in 2018 by our Lead Physiotherapist, Tom Haynes, TMH Physiotherapy has grown into a dedicated team of Physiotherapists, Physiotherapy Associates, Occupational Therapists and Speech and Language Therapists.
Combining extensive clinical experience with a shared passion for rehabilitation, we are committed to helping more people regain mobility, restore independence and improve their quality of life.

Tom Haynes
Lead Physiotherapist / Advanced Clinical Practitioner / Clinical Director
Tom began his physiotherapy career within the NHS in 2014 and progressed to the role of Senior Physiotherapist within two years of qualifying. Over the following years, he developed extensive experience across neurological, elderly and general rehabilitation, alongside contributing to research and service development within these areas.
Throughout his career, Tom has worked with patients presenting with a wide range of common, complex and rare neurological and rehabilitation needs. He has a particular clinical interest in stroke rehabilitation, neurodegenerative conditions and the management of complex neurological presentations.
Tom has undertaken further postgraduate training with the British Bobath Tutors Association (BBTA) in the Bobath Approach to neurological rehabilitation, together with additional specialist training relating to spinal cord injury, amputee rehabilitation, bariatric care and other complex patient groups.
In 2018, Tom established TMH Physiotherapy with the aim of providing high-quality, specialist rehabilitation within patients’ own homes and communities. Since then, the service has continued to develop and expand, supporting individuals with a broad range of neurological, mobility and rehabilitation needs.
In 2022, Tom was invited to joint the University of Nottingham as a guest lecturer, contributing to the undergraduate Physiotherapy programme and supporting the education and development of the next generation of physiotherapists.
In 2026, Tom completed an MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice at the University of Derby, with a clinical focus on elderly medicine. This advanced level of training has further developed his skills in comprehensive medical assessment, clinical reasoning, diagnosis, investigation and medicines management.
As an Advanced Clinical Practitioner and Independent Prescriber, Tom can integrate advanced clinical assessment and medicines management into his practice, within his professional scope of competence. This additional expertise supports the continued development of TMH Physiotherapy, creating opportunities to offer more comprehensive clinical services alongside specialist rehabilitation
Dan Strong
Senior Physiotherapist
Dan began his career with the NHS in 2022, working on elderly medical rehabilitation wards within local community hospitals. Demonstrating considerable clinical ability, he progressed to the role of Senior Physiotherapist in October 2023.
Dan has a passion for delivering high-quality care and supporting people living with disabilities, a commitment he has also demonstrated through volunteering with local community groups.
Since joining TMH Physiotherapy in 2023, Dan has developed a reputation for his compassionate approach and ability to achieve meaningful rehabilitation outcomes. He has particular experience in supporting clients with arthritis and those recovering from orthopaedic surgery following a fall.
His friendly personality and sense of humour have made him a popular member of the team.
Gemma Kott
Gemma began her NHS career in 2009 as a Physiotherapy Assistant, gaining valuable experience in acute neurological rehabilitation across the University Hospitals of Leicester, including brain injury, stroke and intensive care.
In 2014, she moved into long-term conditions rehabilitation, contributing to the development of community-based exercise and education programmes alongside local research projects.
Building on this experience, Gemma went on to complete a BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy, qualifying in 2023 before joining TMH Physiotherapy.
She has a particular interest in complex neurological conditions and rehabilitation for adults with learning disabilities.
Gemma also holds a BSc (Hons) in Nutrition, Health and Lifestyle and has previous experience as a fitness instructor, bringing a broad range of knowledge and skills to her rehabilitation practice.
Senior Physiotherapist
Dan started his career working for the NHS as a Physiotherapy Technical Instructor in the MSK outpatient departments. Here he gained valuable expertise in the management of common orthopaedic conditions included total hip/knee replacements, arthritis and fracture management. After 4 years of working in MSK, Dan decided to undertake his full training and embarked on completing a BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy degree to become a qualified Physiotherapist in 2023. After this, Dan continued to work in the NHS, gaining valuable experience in elderly rehabilitation, general medical rehabilitation, stroke rehabilitation and community neurological therapy before joining TMH Physiotherapy in 2024. As well as being a Physio; Dan also holds an additional degree in BSc (Hons) Sports Rehabilitation, so is still no stranger to treating MSK conditions.

Jack Koczalski
Physiotherapist
Jack first started his career as a Sports Therapist after gaining a BSc Sports Therapy degree in 2018 from Leeds Beckett University. In this role he worked at various football clubs including Nottingham County FC and Nottingham Forest FC where he provided rehabilitation to many elite level athletes. After this, Jack joined the NHS to work as a Rehabilitation & Exercise Practitioner in the musculoskeletal department before undertaking an MSc Physiotherapy master's degree with the University of Lincoln in 2020. Upon graduating as a registered Physiotherapist in 2023, Jack continued to work within the NHS; gaining valued experience within inpatient stroke rehabilitation. Jack has a special interest in Neurological and Stroke rehabilitation and has a passion for helping people to achieve their physical goals in a time of need. He joined TMH Physiotherapy in 2025 and has already proven his ability to follow in this passion by successfully rehabilitating many of our clients.

Mason Rowley
Mason originally joined TMH Physiotherapy in 2021, as a Physiotherapy Associate, where he provided rehabilitation treatments alongside our Lead Physiotherapist, before going on to fully qualify as a Physiotherapist from Coventry University in 2023. After a professional football career Mason began working as part of therapy teams within the NHS in 2015. Since then, he has worked exclusively in the field of inpatient and community based Medical & Elderly Rehabilitation. He has a wide variety of skills that encompass both Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy whilst having a special interest in Falls Prevention. As well as being a Physio; Mason also holds an additional degree in BSc (Hons) Applied Sports Science.
Jess Hickey

Jess originally joined TMH Physiotherapy in 2021, as a Physiotherapy Associate, where she provided rehabilitation treatments alongside our Lead Physiotherapist, before going on to fully qualify as a Physiotherapist from Coventry University in 2023. She began her career working for the NHS in 2016 as part of an integrated therapy team in Northampton General Hospital Emergency Assessment Unit. Since then, she has gained valuable experience working across other areas of health rehabilitation including Renal failure units, Medical & Elderly rehab wards and Stroke rehabilitation. Jess has a wide variety of skills that encompass both Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy as well as having a special interest in Stroke recovery. Jess is also a qualified Massage Therapist which adds to our skill set of being able to provide skilled hands-on manual therapy treatments. Jess also holds an additional degree in BSc (Hons) Sports Exercise Science.
Matthew Girvan
Matt joined TMH Physiotherapy as our first Physiotherapy Associate where he can provide rehabilitation treatments independently and autonomously alongside our Lead Physiotherapist. He began his career working for the NHS in 2016 as part of a Stroke Therapy Team. Since then, he has gained valuable experience working across other areas of health rehabilitation including Elective & Trauma Orthopaedics as well as most recently Medical & Elderly rehabilitation. In 2024, Matt also qualified as a registered Occupational Therapist (OT) and as such he has a very wide variety of skills that encompass both Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy as well as having special interests in post operative hip and knee rehabilitation. Additionally, Matt also holds a degree in BA (Hons) Education, Psychology and Counselling which adds to our skill set of being able to provide psychological support to our clients as part of our overall holistic approach.

Jariah Carter
Physiotherapist
Jariah first started his career as a Sports Therapist before going on to further train as a qualified Physiotherapist a few years later. After gaining a first class honours degree in BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy, he went on to join the NHS where he amassed valuable experience in the areas of elderly, neurological and stroke rehabilitation. Jariah joined TMH Physiotherapy in 2025 and is already proving to be a client favourite due to his highly motivational yet caring approach. He has a keen interest in all aspects of neurological physiotherapy and holds an additional degree in BSc (Hons) Sports & Exercise Therapy.
Jayde is the latest addition to the TMH Physiotherapy family and is also our first international team member. Originally from sunny South Africa, Jayde qualified as a Physiotherapist in 2021 where she began working in local rehabilitation hospital's focusing on the delivery of high quality treatment for patients with neurological, spinal and general medical conditions. Since then she has amassed a wealth of valuable experience for another private home visit provider in Johannesburg before emigrating to the UK in 2024 after which she was quick to join our team in 2025. Jayde is highly specialised in the treatment of neurological conditions and is truly passionate about helping her clients to regain as much independence as possible to live a better quality of life.

Katie is often the first point of contact for clients and families wishing to access the services offered by TMH Physiotherapy.
She undertakes a variety of essential administrative duties, including booking appointments, managing correspondence and maintaining our electronic patient records system.
Katie also conducts preliminary telephone consultations with clients and their families, gathering important information ahead of initial assessments and ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to discuss their needs and concerns.
Her friendly and compassionate approach helps clients feel supported from their very first contact with the team, while allowing our therapists to focus on delivering high-quality clinical care.
George joined TMH Physiotherapy as a Speech & Language Therapist in 2022 as part of our new service expansion. After qualifying in 2015 he began his career working as well as volunteering for charities including the Stroke Association and Headway where he was able to support patients and their families following Stroke & Brain Injury. After this George went on to join the NHS in 2018 working across hospitals in Leicestershire where he has continued to gain a breadth of experience whilst positioned across Stroke Rehabilitation Units, General Medical Wards and the Specialist Brain Injury Unit. George has a special interest in the field of neurological disease and has worked with patients who suffer from a variety of conditions including Stroke, Motor Neuron Disease, Multiple Sclerosis and Parkinson's Disease to name a few. He is also particularly skilled in the management of dysphagia (swallowing impairment) related to these conditions.
